Environmental Protection Department of Bayannur City Implements Environmental Protection Acceptance of Tailings Pond of Xisha Degai Molybdenum Mine

On September 22, an acceptance team composed of staff from the environmental protection departments of Bayannur City and Urad Front Banner and relevant experts carried out environmental protection acceptance for the new tailings pond of the Xisha Degai Molybdenum Mine.

At the expert review meeting, General Manager Zhang Zhiquan of Molybdenum Mine, on behalf of the construction unit, reported in detail to the acceptance team on the design and construction of the tailings pond, focusing on the implementation of environmental protection measures in the approval report of the municipal environmental protection department on the environmental assessment of the tailings pond and the implementation of relevant environmental standards in the Ulat Nature Reserve. After listening to the work report, the acceptance team conducted an on-site inspection of the environmental protection situation of the tailings pond.

The acceptance team reviewed and found that the environmental protection of the tailings pond of Xisha Degai Molybdenum Mine is basically qualified. At the same time, the acceptance team further proposed that after the installation of fences and flood prevention emergency plans for the tailings pond at Xisha Degai Molybdenum Mine, as well as the restoration of construction soil, the environmental protection department will issue an environmental acceptance approval.
